Obviously you’ve got heaps of ideas and avenues to follow up, but just wondered about any historical themes. I bet there would be some interesting archives relating to waste water and drainage and even domestic uses – when did we start showering every day (well most of us)! I think in Australia most water is used in bathrooms. For a start you could just look up water in the ODT archives in the public library. But then there must be files in national archives in Wellington. And stuff in magazines like Woman’s Weekly (I’m thinking about hygiene isses etc.). Have many people looked into a history of water use?

That’s a really good idea to look into but am not sure I’ve got the scope to do it here as I’ve still got lots to do following where my water comes from and goes to. But maybe even some blogs about historical views without going into too much depth. I wonder how much of that archival stuff can be searched for online these days?
